David Lee Roth has dedicated a previously unreleased song to his late bandmate Eddie Van Halen.
The vocalist shared the upbeat and unplugged Somewhere Over The Rainbow Bar And Grill last Friday (October 30) as a tribute to the iconic guitarist, who passed away earlier in October following complications from a long battle with throat cancer.
Lyrically, the track reflects on the early days of Van Halen and their struggle to land a record deal, while its title is a tongue-in-cheek nod to the legendary Rainbow Bar and Grill, a popular musician's hangout on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles.
Its YouTube artwork offers a personal touch from Roth with the message: "Hey Ed, I'm gonna miss ya'. See you on the other side…" Press play below.
Roth will support KISS on the 2021 rescheduled North American leg of the glam-rock giants' End Of The Road World Tour.
