Peter Frampton Band Announce Instrumental Covers Album 'Frampton Forgets The Words'

Friday, 29 January 2021 Written by Laura Johnson

Peter Frampton Band will release a new album this spring.

'Frampton Forgets The Words' will arrive on April 23 and feature full band instrumental reworkings of tracks by other artists, including Radiohead's Reckoner from their 2007 album 'In Rainbows', the video for which you can check out below.

Introducing the new record online, Frampton said:

"New Peter Frampton Band album “Frampton Forgets The Words” out April 23rd! This album is a collection of ten of my favorite pieces of music. My guitar is also a voice and I have always enjoyed playing my favorite vocal lines that we all know and love. These tracks are my great band and me paying tribute to the original creators of this wonderful music. So much fun to do and I really hope you enjoy it too."

Frampton's last record was 'All Blues', which he put out in early 2019 after announcing in February his diagnosis of a rare, degenerative muscle disease called Inclusion Body Myositis (IBM). He was due to retire from touring after Finale: The Farewell Tour in 2020, but the UK leg was pulled due to COVID-19, with no rescheduled dates announced.

'Frampton Forgets the Words' Ttracklist:

1. If You Want Me To Stay
2. Reckoner
3. Dreamland
4. One More Heartache
5. Avalon
6. Isn’t It A Pity
7. I Don’t Know Why
8. Are You Gonna Go My Way
9. Loving The Alien
10. Maybe
