Wolfgang Van Halen's Mammoth WVH To Release Self-Titled Debut Album In June

Wolfgang Van Halen has announced the first album under his Mammoth WVH moniker.
The self-titled record will arrive on June 11 via Explorer1 Music Group/EX1 Records and feature the newly unveiled single You're To Blame, a predictably thundering slice of hard rock, along with the heartfelt Distance, a bonus track released in 2020.
All 14 songs on the album were penned by Wolfgang, with the former Van Halen bassist also recording all of the instruments himself as well as vocals. His touring band, meanwhile, comprises guitarists Frank Sidoris and Jon Jourdan, bassist Ronnie Ficarro and drummer Garrett Whitlock.
"The name Mammoth is really special to me,” Wolfgang explained. "Not only was it the name of Van Halen before it became Van Halen, but my father was also the lead singer. Ever since my dad told me this, I always thought that when I grew up, I’d call my own band Mammoth, because I loved the name so much. I’m so thankful that my father was able to listen to, and enjoy the music I made. Nothing made me happier than seeing how proud he was that I was continuing the family legacy."
The iconic Eddie Van Halen died in October 2020 from complications due to cancer.
