James have shared a new song.
All The Colours Of You serves as the title track of the Manchester band's forthcoming 16th album, due out on June 4 via Virgin Music Label and Artist Services (formerly Caroline International). They recorded the majority of it prior to the coronavirus pandemic, enlisting legendary Grammy-winning producer Jacknife Lee, who worked remotely on the record from his own home.
Talking about the follow-up to 2018's 'Living in Extraordinary Times', vocalist Tim Booth said: "With all the shit that went down in 2020 this was a miraculous conception and another big jump forward for us on the back of the last three albums. I hope it reflects the colours of these crazy times. Sweet 16 is a proper album, no fillers and is up there with our best."
Bassist Jim Glennie added: "I'm pleased, proud and surprised by this record in equal amounts. Jacknife has pushed us and the songs somewhere new and it's very exciting. After all these years, we are still challenging ourselves and our fans."
The new song finds the indie band experimenting with a more radiant pop sound over driving percussion, while lyrically tackling the divisiveness and hatred stoked by former US President Donald Trump.
James will embark on a UK and Ireland arena tour this autumn supported by Happy Mondays. Head below for tour dates and ticket details.
