Diana Ross Announces First New Album In 15 Years 'Thank You', Shares Title Track

Thursday, 17 June 2021 Written by Jon Stickler

Diana Ross has shared details of her first new studio album in 15 years.

The long-awaited follow-up to 2006's 'I Love You' is called 'Thank You' and will arrive on September 10 via Decca Records. Her last full-length of original material, 'Every Day Is a New Day', was released in 1999.

Written during the COVID-19 lockdown and recorded at the legendary vocalist's home studio, the record's 13 tracks were co-penned by Ross, who worked alongside songwriters and producers such as Jack Antonoff, Troy Miller, Triangle Park, Spike Stent, Prince Charlez, Amy Wadge, Neff-U, Freddie Wexler, Jimmy Napes, Tayla Parx, Fred White, and Nathanial Ledgewick.

Along with the news, the disco-inspired title track has been unveiled, which finds the former leader of The Supremes expressing her gratitude to fans. She said:

"This collection of songs is my gift to you with appreciation and love. I am eternally grateful that I had the opportunity to record this glorious music at this time.

"I dedicate this songbook of love to all of you, the listeners. As you hear my voice you hear my heart."

The 77-year-old was booked to perform at the 2020 Glastonbury festival in its Sunday afternoon "legends" slot, before the event was cancelled due to the pandemic. She will take the Thank You Tour to UK arenas in June 2022.
