Nathaniel Rateliff And The Night Sweats Announce Third LP 'The Future', Post New Song Survivor

Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats have shared details of their third album.
The follow-up to 2018's 'Tearing At The Seams' is called 'The Future' and will arrive on November 5 through Stax Records.
The introspective LP was recorded outside Denver at Rateliff's own Broken Creek Studio, with production steered by Bradley Cook, alongside the trio of Rateliff, Patrick Meese of The Night Sweats, and James Barone of Beach House, who collectively helmed the singer-songwriter's 2020 solo record 'And It's Still Alright'. Commenting on the writing sessions, which took place during the COVID-19 pandemic, Rateliff said:
"I look at the album overall as a big question. When I was writing the record we were in the middle of a pandemic and our future looked pretty bleak. I just continue to try to write from a place of hope. Then my own neurosis, and maybe being a libra gets in the way, and I can’t make up my mind. There is this constant back and forth battle in me personally and I am sure that comes out in my writing."
As a preview, the group have unveiled the lead single, Survivor, which is guided by the 42-year-old's soulful vocals over rich instrumentation and an anchoring punchy drum beat. Press play below.
Earlier in 2021, Rateliff dropped the live album 'Red Rocks 2020', which was recorded at an empty Red Rocks Amphitheatre during a run of socially distanced gigs.
Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats are currently touring North America with Delta Spirit. They also have dates in the diary for the fall with Margo Price.
