Cardiff's Festival Of Voice has unveiled its full line-up for 2021.
Following the cancellation of the international arts event in 2020 due to COVID-19, the festival — which is usually held biennially — will return to the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay between November 4 and 7, with over 20 acts set to perform.
Artists set to appear include composer Max Richter, playing for the first time in Wales with Sinfonia Cymru, Brian Eno, who will deliver the festival's opening keynote address, Roger Eno, Arab Strap, Hot Chip, Stella Chiweshe, Charlotte Church's Late Night Pop Dungeon, Tricky, Kelsey Lu, Juice Menace, Anna Meredith, Gruff Rhys, and Ghostpoet, among others.
Organisers have confirmed that the 2021 edition will be a more intimate affair, with street food and bars set up around the venue. There will also be a series of creative interventions tackling the concept of power, led by artist Bethan Marlow and created and performed by young people and youth workers from the South Wales Valleys. Wales Millennium Centre's Artistic Director, Graeme Farrow said:
"It feels absolutely wonderful to be able to bring the Festival Of Voice back after such a challenging time in our lives. We have twenty incredible acts performing over the four days and the fact that these events will be held on the Donald Gordon Theatre stage, with the audience on stage too will make these events truly special and intimate. We're looking forward to welcoming many acts to Cardiff for their very first time and I can’t wait to celebrate and hear powerful voices from all over the world this year and every year from now on."
