Arlo Parks has won the Mercury Prize 2021 for 'Collapsed In Sunbeams'.

Released in January through Transgressive Records, she fought off competition from Berwyn, Black Country, New Road, Celeste, Floating Points, Pharoah Sanders and the London Symphony Orchestra, Ghetts, Hannah Peel, Laura Mvula, Mogwai, Nubya Garcia, Sault and Wolf Alice to succeed last year’s winner, Michael Kiwanuka, who took home the gong for his third album, ‘Kiwanuka’.

The winner was announced by Annie Mac during a live ceremony hosted by Lauren Laverne at London's Eventim Apollo this evening (September 9). The judges were Anna Calvi, Annie Mac, Danielle Perry, Gemma Cairney, Hazel Wilde, Jamie Cullum, Jeff Smith, Michael Kiwanuka, Mike Walsh, Phil Alexander, Tshepo Mokoena, and Will Hodgkinson, with Jeff Smith as The Chair of the panel.
