Interpol have revealed that they have started work on a new album.
The New York trio have announced they are in London recording their seventh album with legendary producers Flood and Alan Moulder, best known for their work with Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, and Smashing Pumpkins. They also won a Brit Award for the 2014 Foals LP, 'Holy Fire'.
Due out sometime in 2022 via Matador, the record will follow 2019's 'A Fine Mess' EP and 2018's 'Marauder' full-length. Guitarist Daniel Kessler said:
"We are overjoyed to announce Flood & Moulder will be producing and mixing the next Interpol record. We are long-time admirers of their work and delighted to be in the studio with them. Starting this party right."
In the summer, the band confirmed that they'll headline Just Like Heaven festival in Pasadena, and Primavera Sound in Barcelona, and Palacio De Los Deportes in Mexico City in 2022. They'll also play London's Roundhouse on June 14. Tickets are on sale now.
