Spike The Punch arrives with a video created by Perth-based Matt Sav, as well as news of the Australian singer-songwriter's signing to Liberation Records.
Produced by John Castle, with mixing by Grammy Award-winner Carlos de la Garza, the lively power-pop track marks her first release since penning and recording On My Way for Sony Picture Animation's Netflix film The Mitchells vs The Machines. Lahey said:
"Spike The Punch is a song about the fun that comes with self-sabotage and reckless abandon. It's big, it's loud, it's fun, it's its own beast. There are some super sinister tones in there rubbing up against really bright anime style guitar harmonies (guitarmonies, anyone?..) and shouted choruses. Spike feels like a raucous bookend to navigating these cruelly unpredictable times. Touch wood."
She released her sophomore album, 'The Best Of Luck Club', in 2019.
