Of Mice And Men have shared details of their seventh studio album.
'Echo' will arrive through SharpTone Records on December 3 and comprises tracks from the California quartet's previously released 'Timeless' and 'Bloom' EPs, along with their upcoming 'Ad Infinitum' EP, due out in April 2022.
Self-produced by the band, the record was created during the COVID-19 lockdown, with the band working remotely via Zoom and file sharing platforms. It was mixed and mastered by vocalist and bassist Aaron Pauley.
As a preview, the band have dropped a new song, Fighting Gravity, which opens with an extended instrumental passage before morphing into an intense, atmospheric number that offers both dark and light moments. Check it out below alongside the LP's tracklist and artwork by Derek Hess. Pauley commented:
"Fighting Gravity is about learning to let go, while also recognising the impermanence and shortness of life. We think we're in control of so much, but we're really not, and that existential dilemma is at the foundation of the human condition."
The band added: "'Echo' is a snapshot of the last year-and-a-half of our lives. It covers loss and growth, life and impermanence, love, and the infinite - how the most wonderful and most tragic parts of the human experience are deeply intertwined."
Their last full-length came in the form of 2019's 'Earthandsky'.
