Hot Water Music have announced a new album.
The follow-up to 2017's 'Light It Up' is called 'Feel The Void' and will arrive on March 18, marking the band's first record with The Flatliners’ Chris Cresswell on guitar, who stepped in following the temporary departure of vocalist and guitarist Chris Wollard for mental health reasons, and stayed on as a permanent member following his return. Vocalist and guitarist Chuck Ragan said:
“This is so much more than just a band. A lot of people understood a long time ago that we, the band, used Hot Water Music as a vehicle for our own therapy, to help get over these barriers and be able to continue when we’re feeling at our lowest, or feeling like the rest of the world is against us. Years ago, that was the choice that we made as a band – that it’s not about being popular or making money or seeing your name on a marquee. This is a way for us to release all this angst and inspiration and positivity, and share music that drives us to become better people, better friends and better communities. It literally started with four of us, and over the years it became so much more than just a band – and I’m just so incredibly honoured to be a piece of this puzzle.”
The album was recorded at Black Bear Studios in Gainesville, Florida and saw them returning to producer Brian McTernan, who they worked with on 2001’s 'A Flight And A Crash', 2002’s 'Caution' and 2004’s 'The New What Next'.
Alongside news of the record, the Floridian punk-rockers have shared its first single, Killing Time, a no holds barred number that puts Ragan's gravelly vocals out front.
Hot Water Music will return to the UK next summer for sets at Slam Dunk festival. They'll also play the Electric Ballroom in Camden, London on October 8 with Boysetsfire.
