Maren Morris has shared the details of her new album.
'Humble Quest', the follow-up to 2019's 'Girl', will arrive on March 25 via Columbia Records. It will feature the recently released single Circles Around This Town.
The record began to take form at the start of the pandemic, which coincided with a lot of personal developments for the country singer-songwriter, including new motherhood and the death of beloved friend and collaborator Michael Busbee.
Morris also wanted to explore how trying to appear humble, epsecially for women, can end up becoming a way to diminish them. Her interpretation of humility centres around being truthful with oneself, rather than appearing so to others.
The new record was produced by frequent collaborator Greg Kurstin and written alongside her husband Ryan Hurd, as well as Julia Michaels, Jimmy Robbins, Natalie Hemby, Laura Veltz and Jon Green on Busbee's piano.
Morris has received two nominations for this year's Grammy Awards: Best Country Song for Better Than We Found It and Best Country Duo/Group Performance for Chasing After You, a collaboration with her husband.
