Incubus' Brandon Boyd has shared a new track, Dime In My Dryer.

Offering ominous synths and discordant, clangorous percussion, the alt-rock song will appear on his upcoming solo LP, 'Echoes And Cocoons', due out on March 11 via Wit Hustle/The Orchard.

It follows the previous cuts Pocket Knife and Petrichor. In a statement, Boyd revealed the inspiration for the single:

"Dime In My Dryer is a tale of discovery of what is important in life when forced to slow down. It was in the relative silence of a world mostly shut down that I noticed how loud things had been in the before-times. Not the obvious part of my life that is governed by big sounds and travelling, no, but that chatter or noise that emits from our shared experience as people. All of a sudden it would stop for brief intervals, and in those gaps is where I began to see the parts of my life and my general experience that offered more signal and less noise."

The 45-year-old put out his debut solo album, 'The Wild Trapeze', in 2010, followed by his second full-length 'Sons Of The Sea', in 2013.

Incubus, meanwhile, dropped their latest studio record, '8', in 2017. They'll hit the road for a handful of gigs in March.
