Dope will feature on the singer-songwriter's forthcoming eighth studio album, details of which are still to be revealed. It will follow up to 2020's 'Bigger Love'.
Produced by Ian Kirkpatrick and Ryan Tedder, and co-written by Legend, Charlie Puth, Tedder, and J.I.D, the upbeat, summery track finds the 12-time Grammy Award-winner singing alongside J.I.D's rapping. Legend said:
"I'm so thrilled to be releasing new music. The past year or so has been so exciting for me creatively. I have been writing and collaborating with some of the most talented people in music, and we have some great new material to share with the world. Dope is one of my favorites. I love the energy of the song. I loved collaborating with my gifted co-writers and producers, and J.I.D is one of my favorite emerging artists in hip-hop. I hope the song can be a part of people's soundtrack for this summer."
Legend will play a series of European dates this summer, including an appearance at the Somerset House Summer Series in London. Following that, he'll return stateside for his next run of his Love In Las Vegas residency dates between August 5 and 20, and October 14 and 29.
