John Legend is a singer-songwriter from Springfield, Ohio.

Starting his career working behind-the-scenes, he lent his vocal, musical and songwriting talents to the likes of Lauryn Hill, Jay-Z, Black Eyed Peas and Kanye West before achieving huge amounts of success with his own single, Ordinary People.

Now an international superstar, he is the first Black man to become an EGOT winner, having received four Emmys, 13 Grammys, an Oscar and a Tony Award, and has performed at major events such as the Super Bowl XL pre-game show and the 2006 NBA All-Star Game. He's put out 10 studio albums to date—the latest being 2024's 'My Favorite Dream'—and continues to pen and produce tracks for other artists, including Alicia Keys, Paloma Faith, Chance The Rapper, Estelle and A$AP Rocky.
