Jessie Ware has shared her first single of 2022, Free Yourself.
The empowering, disco-inspired and dancefloor-ready anthem marks the singer-songwriter's first new solo material since the 2021 deluxe edition reissue of her 2020 LP 'What’s Your Pleasure?’.
Co-written with Coffee Clarence Jr. and British producer Stuart Price, it serves as a preview of Ware's forthcoming fifth studio album, which she revealed to Annie Mac on BBC 6 Music is due to arrive early in 2023. She said in a statement:
"It’s the beginning of a new era, and it felt only right to start off with this song I made with the phenomenal Stuart Price and Coffee.
"I have never had so many messages from people being so thrilled I’m working with Stuart. I can confirm, he is excellent, great fun and still loves his disco.
"This track is for everyone, and at the risk of sounding incredibly cliché, I’ve never felt more free with my music. I’m loving the world you have helped me create and I feel empowered and confident. So, thank you. I can’t wait to perform it to you, for us all to free ourselves and to have a bloody good time."
