Self Esteem has unveiled a video for a new version of Fucking Wizardry.
The original track features on Rebecca Lucy Taylor's 2021 album, 'Prioritise Pleasure', which is shortlisted for the Mercury Prize, the winner of which will be revealed tonight (September 8). Head below to watch the Piers Dennis-directed clip. In a statement about the song, Taylor said:
"Here is my new single Fucking Wizardry – Block Them Edit, It's a song about trusting and believing in what you already know. If it feels like someone is taking the piss, they usually are.
"Not to be all 'you deserve better' about it but it’s very likely you do, indeed deserve better."
Self Esteem will perform live at the Mercury Prize ceremony at London's Eventim Apollo, which she'll return to on her previously confirmed 2023 UK tour. Due to demand, she's added a new stop in Bristol on March 12, and upgraded her Cambridge show to the Corn Exchange. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on September 9.
