Sweet Baboo has announced his seventh studio album.
'The Wreckage' will arrive on January 27 via his own Amazing Tapes From Canton label, marking Stephen Black's first full-length release in five years.
Having already shared Hopeless from the record, a new track has been released, Good Luck, which offers warm, lo-fi synth melodies and an affectionate tone. The lyrics were penned by fellow Welsh singer-songwriter H Hawkline. Black said:
"I asked my friend H Hawkline to write me a song for the album as I thought it would be interesting to have another lyrical voice to contrast with mine. Little did I know he was going to write the most radio-friendly song on the album. You’ll have to ask him what it’s about but to me it’s like the opposite idea to ‘Hopeless’. Always optimistic, never giving up. There’s an air of sadness."
Black will support the release with a UK tour in February and March, following an appearance at Cardiff's Swn Festival on October 23.
