Blur have announced a summer show in Ireland.
Prior to their two recently announced shows at London's Wembley Stadium in July, the Britpop band will play a concert at Malahide Castle in Dublin on June 24.
It will be their only Irish show of the year, and marks their first headline performance there since 2015. Tickets go on general sale at 9am on November 25.
In a statement about the upcoming reunion shows, frontman Damon Albarn said: “We really love playing these songs and thought it's about time we did it again.” Guitarist and vocalist Graham Coxon added:
“I’m really looking forward to playing with my blur brothers again and revisiting all those great songs… blur live shows are always amazing for me. A nice guitar and an amp turned right up and loads of smiling faces…”
The band last reunited in 2009, breaking a hiatus that began following their world tour supporting 2003’s 'Think Tank' LP. Vocalist Albarn has since released three solo albums and a new record with Gorillaz.
Coxon, meanwhile, has been busy with The Waeve, and Rowntree is gearing up for the release of his debut solo LP in January.
Blur Upcoming Tour Dates are as follows
Sat June 24 2023 - DUBLIN Malahide Castle
Sat July 08 2023 - LONDON Wembley Stadium
Sun July 09 2023 - LONDON Wembley Stadium
