The Smile To Release Live Album 'The Smile At Montreux Jazz Festival' This Week

The Smile will release a new live album this week.
As its title suggests, 'The Smile At Montreux Jazz Festival' was recorded during the band's set at the historic Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland in July.
It captures the group — Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Tom Skinner — performing select tracks from their debut album, 'A Light For Attracting Attention’, including You Will Never Work In Television Again, The Smoke, Pana-vision, and Free In The Knowledge.
The trio released the LP back in April, before commencing a summer-long international tour. They're currently on the road in the US and continue their run in Portland, Oregon tomorrow (December 14).
'The Smile At Montreux Jazz Festival' features seven tracks (eight on digital versions) and will arrive on December 14, with a concert film of the performance set to be broadcast via The Smile's YouTube Channel at 8pm GMT today (December 13). It'll be available for 48 hours, and will also include footage of the first public performance of a new song Bending Hectic, written earlier the day it was played.
By releasing their Montreux Jazz Festival performance, The Smile follow in the footsteps of the likes of Miles Davis, Nina Simone, Wu-Tang Clan, Nile Rodgers and Anna von Hausswolff. The festival has a long-standing history of hosting legendary moments in music culture as a platform offering creative freedom to artists.
