Vistas Announce Third Album 'Is This All We Are?' And Accompanying Autumn Tour Dates

Vistas have announced their third album.
The Scottish trio will release 'Is This All We Are?' on September 15, following up 2021's 'What Were You Hoping To Find' and their 'The Beautiful Nothing' EP, which arrived at the start of 2023.
Recorded at Liverpool's Kempston Street Studios in December 2022 with producer Rich Turvey, the record is previewed by its title track, a catchy, uptempo indie-rocker. Commenting on the song, the band said:
"Is This All We Are? was one of the earliest tracks written for the album and that central question posed in the title informed the theme of the entire record. It is essentially asking the question of: ‘What is the meaning of our time on earth?’, but the song is left open ended and doesn’t try to provide any answers."
Explaining the motivation behind the record, frontman Prentice Robertson added: "During the writing of both the EP and album, one of my family members became very ill and this became all encompassing in mine and my families’ lives. This led to many conversations about the fragility and meaning of someone’s life and where they go and what they leave behind after they are gone. As these subjects were so dominating in my thoughts, they became the central theme of the album. I think the title sums up these themes as a whole by asking ‘is this all we are?'.
"In our previous records I feel like the subjects of the songs were a bit more broad, and with this record I tried to make things more specific. There are tracks about why people can be cruel, tracks about losing someone, tracks about how unfair life can be, and tracks that question what the meaning of our time on earth is."
Vistas will appear at Kendal Calling and Reading and Leeds this summer, before a newly announced UK and European tour during November. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time on Friday (June 9).
