Public Image Ltd have shared another song from their upcoming album.
Following Penge, Car Chase marks the second single from 'End Of World', which is due out on August 11.
Driven by a dance-leaning rock groove, the track comes with a video montage of footage capturing the recording of the song. Vocalist John Lydon explained:
"It’s about someone who cleverly breaks out of the mental institution every night, unbeknownst to his owners. It’s based on having to go to shopping malls at night for cigarettes and wine, and seeing the vast carpark space and lighting surrounded by a little village and a lot of dark trees and country lanes. It’s a really creepy scenario, what if somebody creeps out of there, like a mad lunatic?"
The post-punks will support the LP with the End Of World Tour across the UK and Europe in September and October. Tickets are on sale.
Earlier in 2023, the band competed to represent Ireland at Eurovision with the song Hawaii, but were unsuccessful.
