Chroma have announced their debut album.

The Welsh bilingual alt-rock trio will release 'Ask For Angela' on October 20 via Alcopop! Records. It was recorded at Giant Wafer Studios in Llanbadarn Fynydd, Wales, and produced and mixed by Steffan Pringle, with mastering handled by Tom Langrish at E1 Mastering in London. Revealing the details, the band said:

"It brings us such joy to announce that our debut album 'Ask For Angela' is finally being released to the world this October. After a few long gruelling years of waiting for the right time, at least it finally feels right that we put our first baby out for the world to see and hear. This album takes us in a direction that we as a band feel as if it affirms the sound that we’ve always wanted to create, and with thanks to Steffan Pringle and Tom E1 Mastering and Duplication, they’ve helped bring these songs to life.

"'Ask For Angela' is no longer just ours, but it’s yours, now and forever. We hope you find as much joy in this record as it was for us to create."

To celebrate the news, the three-piece have shared the record's opening track, Don't Wanna Go Out, which arrives with both English and Welsh language versions as a double a-side single. Offering driving guitar riffs, energetic beats and powerhouse vocals, it follows the previously shared LP cuts Don’t Mind Me and Woman To Woman.

Vocalist Katie Hall said: "Don't Wanna Go Out is a song about the perpetual motions that a person goes through when being invited to go out and see friends when you don't really want to. That FOMO that forces you out of your living room as you don’t want to miss out on a good night, even if you’re anxious to go, a little too tired or just aren’t feeling it."

Chroma will play Swansea's Sin City on August 25 as a fundraiser for their trip to Korea in early September for the DMZ Peace Train Festival. They also have headline shows in London and Cardiff in the diary for September, and will support Foo Fighters at Manchester's Old Trafford Cricket Ground in June 2024.
