Taking Back Sunday have announced their first studio album in seven years.

The Long Island band will release '152' through Fantasy Records on October 27, following up 2016's 'Tidal Wave', though they did drop the compilation 'Twenty' in 2019.

Produced by Tushar Apte and mixed by Neal Avron, the 10-song record takes its title from a section of road in North Carolina where the band and their friends would meet up as teenagers. They said:

"'152' offers a lot more hope and light than we first realized when we were in the thick of it, putting it all together. We've been fortunate enough, through our music, to grow up with a lot of people going through the same things at the same time, and probably feeling the same way. Our hope is that you’re able to find a little bit of yourself in this new collection of songs, because you’re not alone, and neither are we."

Vocalist Adam Lazzara added: "You would think after 20 years, we knew what each other is going to do. But there were so many times making this record where I heard the initial idea and thought I knew where it would go, but then I was super surprised. It’s those kinds of surprises that make it so exciting. That’s why we all still want it so badly."

Alongside the news, the four-piece have shared a new track called S'old, which shows off their talent for writing anthemic pop-leaning songs that fizz with vibrancy. The accompanying video will premiere on YouTube at 5pm BST today (August 30).

Previously, the group teased the record with their June single The One, their first new track under their own steam in four years. They did, however, collaborate with Steve Aoki for Just Us Two in summer 2022.
