Everything Everything Announce Seventh Album 'Mountainhead' And March UK Tour

Everything Everything have announced their seventh studio album.
The Manchester art-rock group will release ’Mountainhead’ on March 1, following up 2022’s ’Raw Data Feel’. It was produced by the band’s guitarist Alex Robertshaw (Kaines) and production partner Tom A.D, and recorded at Eve Studios in Stockport and Ludwick House in Shropshire.
Head below to stream the record’s lead single, Cold Reactor, a synth-based indie-pop track that premiered on BBC Radio 1 last night (October 26). Commenting on the idea behind the new project, frontman Jonathan Higgs explained:
"In another world, society has built an immense mountain. To make the mountain bigger, they must make the hole they live in deeper and deeper."
He continued: "All of society is built around the creation of the mountain, and a mountain religion dominates all thought. At the top of the mountain is rumoured to be a huge mirror that reflects endlessly recurring images of the self, and at the bottom of the pit is a giant golden snake that is the primal fear of all believers.
"A ’Mountainhead’ is one who believes the mountain must grow no matter the cost, and no matter how terrible it is to dwell in the great pit. The taller the mountain, the deeper the hole."
The four-piece revealed the record’s cover art and release date in a post shared to their Instagram page, which also displayed a promotional poster for a spring UK tour.
Next year’s dates will kick off with a show in Glasgow on March 26, before stops in Leeds, Manchester, Bexhill, Cambridge, Nottingham, London and Bristol. Tickets go on general sale at 9am next Friday (November 3).
