Adwaith Return With New Single Addo Featuring James Dean Bradfield

Friday, 03 November 2023 Written by Jon Stickler

Adwaith have released a new single, Addo.

The song features Manic Street Preachers' James Dean Bradfield on guitar and serves as the first taster of the Carmarthen band's unannounced third studio album, the follow-up to 2022’s Welsh Music Prize-winning 'Bato Mato'.

Drawing influence from the likes of The Breeders and Liz Phair, Addo, which is Welsh for Promise, finds the trio offering a bright, melodic grunge sound, though lyrically it's one of the band's darker songs to date. They said:

"Addo is about relationships in life that drain you. It’s about caring deeply for someone self-destructive who doesn’t care about themselves, and how when you’re involved in these relationships, it distorts your view of the world and the people around you."
