Empire State Bastard Unveil Video For New Track Tired, Naw?

Friday, 03 November 2023 Written by Jon Stickler

Empire State Bastard have shared a new version of a previously released song.

Crushingly heavy and chaotic, Tired, Naw? is a full-band reworking of the the track Tired, Aye? from their debut album, 'Rivers Of Heresy', which arrived in September through Roadrunner UK.

Released in September, the record was mostly penned remotely, with Mike Vennart, one half of the duo, tracking guitar, bass and drums before bandmate Simon Neil dropped in his throat-shredding vocals. However, in the case of Tired, Aye?, Simon had added his vocal parts but removed all other instrumentation except percussion.

Check out how Vennart originally intended the song to sound below. It arrives with a video directed by Mike Bourne, who helmed the clip for The Looming. They said:

"We're delighted to share the fully suited, original version of Tired, Aye’:’Tired, Naw’. The magical Mike Bourne has created another outstanding, mind-bending video for the song. It’s pure nightmare fuel. Sweet dreams."

It arrives as the band hit the road for a UK and European tour, which continues with a show in Cologne, Germany tonight (November 3).
