Paloma Faith has shared another single from her upcoming album.
Written by Holly Lapsley Fletcher and Fred Cox, with production from Martin Wave and Jamie McEvoy, Bad Woman serves as the second preview of 'The Glorification of Sadness', due out on February 16 through RCA.
Following the lead single How You Leave A Man, the anthemic choir-backed pop track is described by the singer as a "personal standout" on the new record. Introducing it, she said this is, "one for all the women out there that can't help but be bad. I hope it makes you feel empowered, this beautiful New Music Friday!"
In a statement, she revealed: "This song is me reclaiming the power that I felt I'd lost after a rough few years and it's so special to me. [Bad Woman] delved into the myriad societal challenges women confront. My hope is that women embrace their authenticity, feel comfortable in their own skin, and understand that imperfection is a part of being human. Let's free ourselves from the societal pressures that label us and encourage each other to stay true to our authentic selves."
Sharing a collection of photographs in a post on social media, she wrote: "Being a woman is not easy, you are often burdened by extreme expectations and branded as difficult if you defy them or go against the grain.
"These women for one reason or another have inspired me immensely, and I salute you all for flying in the face of the patriarchy."
The singer will support the record with a UK tour in the spring. She'll also perform at the Marlow edition of Pub In The Park on May 19, Leeds' Millennium Square for the Sounds Of The City series on July 7, and Dreamland Margate on August 16, as part of the venue's Margate Summer Series. Tickets are on sale now.
