Kevin “Geordie" Walker, co-founder and guitarist of Killing Joke, has died aged 64.

The hugely influential musician (pictured right) died in Prague on Sunday (November 26) surrounded by family after suffering a stroke. The band confirmed the news in a statement posted online:

"It is with extreme sadness we confirm that at 6.30am on 26th November 2023 in Prague, Killing Joke’s legendary guitarist Kevin ‘Geordie’ Walker passed away after suffering a stroke, he was surrounded by family. We are devastated. Rest In Peace brother."

Born in County Durham in 1958, Walker, along with frontman Jaz Coleman, was the only consistent member of Killing Joke since the group's formation in late 1978.

The four-piece put out their self-titled debut album in 1980, with Walker going on to feature on all 15 of the band's studio records, the most recent being 2015's 'Pylon'. He also played on their 2022 EP, 'Lord Of Chaos'.
