The Last Dinner Party Win BBC Radio 1's Sound Of 2024

The Last Dinner Party have won BBC Radio 1's Sound of 2024.
The London band, who also scooped the 2024 BRITs Rising Star award in December, follow in the footsteps of previous winners FLO, PinkPantheress, Pa Salieu, Sigrid, Years & Years, Sam Smith, Adele, Ellie Goulding, Michael Kiwanuka and Jessie J, among others.
The five-piece were chosen by a panel of over 140 industry experts and artists, seeing off competition from Olivia Dean, Peggy Gou, Tyla, Elmiene, Ayra Starr, Caity Baser, Kenya Grace and Sekou.
In a statement about the win, the group said:
"We are overjoyed to have won BBC Radio 1’s Sound Of Award for 2024! We predict amazing things happening in music this year and it is truly an honour to even be a part of it. BBC Radio has championed us and so many other young artists from the start of their careers, we still can’t believe it every time we hear one of our songs being played. Every artist who has been nominated or won over the years is such a powerhouse, it humbles us to join their ranks! Thank you to guitar music for never dying. Bands are back, baby."
The band, comprised of Abigail Morris, Lizzie Mayland, Emily Roberts, Georgia Davies and Aurora Nishevci, released their latest single, Caesar On A TV Screen, earlier this week. It serves as the fifth preview of their highly anticipated debut album, 'Prelude To Ecstasy', which is due out on February 2.
They'll play a rescheduled show at The Fleece in Bristol on January 30, before an "intimate variety show" at London's Roundhouse on February 1.
They also have a run of in-store dates in the diary for early February, ahead of a European tour and festival appearances in the summer.
