Jack Savoretti has announced his first Italian-language album.
'Miss Italia' will arrive on May 17, and features the newly shared lead single, Senza una Donna (Without A Woman), a collaboration with Italian superstar singer-songwriter Zucchero.
The smooth, rhythmic ballad—originally released in 1991 as a duet between Zucchero and Paul Young—offers new arrangements and modern production. Press play below.
The project arrives at an important moment in Savoretti's life, as his Italian father recently passed away. He explained:
"My father was the anchor that tied me to Italy, the connection to my roots that I felt I was at risk of losing without him. So I went back to school. I didn't want to imitate Italian music, I wanted to make it my own, combining everything I had learned over almost 20 years of experience from working in America, England, and Italy, merging Anglo-Saxon singer-songwriting with Italian to create something unique. I first had to learn to write in Italian before making MY album in Italian."
