Orlando Weeks has shared another single from his upcoming third album.
Good To See You serves as the second preview of 'Loja', which will arrive digitally on June 6, with a physical release following on August 23 via Fiction Records. The first single, Dig featuring Rhian Teasdale of Wet Leg, arrived in April.
Guided by Weeks' falsetto vocal, the new warm, indie-pop track finds the former leader of The Maccabees reflecting on his relocation from London to Lisbon just after the COVID-19 pandemic. He credits his live drummer Luca Caruso as a key part of the song, with the musician also contributing melodica, mellotron and backing vocals.
Weeks said: "Absence makes the heart grow fonder… Or it gives everyone longer for their anxieties to fester and balloon. I suppose this is a song about giving enough rope."
Weeks will launch a residency at The Copeland Gallery in London next week, exhibiting artwork he created while living in Lisbon before a performance of the album. Head here for details.
