A Place To Bury Strangers will release their seventh album in the autumn.
'Synthesizer' will arrive through New York City independent label Dedstrange on October 4, following up 2022's 'See Through You'. The record's vinyl edition packaging is made up of a circuit board that fans can use to build an actual synthesizer.
Alongside the news, the trio have shared the first single from the record, Disgust, a typically fuzzy, distorted noise-rock track. Frontman Oliver Ackermann said:
"Disgust is a song I wrote that was inspired by the way I used to perform Got That Feeling, a song by my old band Skywave. There was a long riding open note on the bass that enabled me to play the whole part with my fist in the air. I wrote this song just on open strings so it could be played with just one hand: dumb and fun.”
Head below to view the song's accompanying video, directed by Bodega's Ben Hozie and filmed by Joe Wakeman.
The band will embark on a European tour beginning later this summer. The trek includes stops in Manchester, Dublin, Belfast, Glasgow, Bedford, Bristol and London, where they'll play three dates, one at the Shacklewell Arms on September 23, and two at Hackney Wick warehouse venue Number 90 on September 24 and September 25. The first of those two dates will be part of a series of gigs celebrating record label Sonic Cathedral's 20th Anniversary.
They also have North American shows in the diary for the fall. Tickets for all dates are on sale now.
