The English singer-songwriter will release ’Changes All The Time’, the follow-up to 2022’s ’Leap’, on September 20. It saw him work with producer Gabe Simon and co-writers such as The Killers’ Brandon Flowers, Holly Humberstone, Semisonic’s Dan Wilson, Natalie Hemby of The Highwomen, and Kevin Garrett.
As a preview, he’s shared the opening track Up All Night featuring The Lumineers and Noah Kahan, a foot-stomping folk-rocker with clear ’70s influence that plays like an instant classic after just one spin. Bay said:
““Up All Night” is all about navigating the great weight of all the stuff that plays on our minds and keeps us awake at night. I have some great history with Noah and The Lumineers. We manifested this collaboration for a while, and I feel proud we could make it happen!”
"It was an absolute honor to be asked to join this amazing song," commented Kahan. "James and The Lumineers are some of my biggest inspirations and getting a chance to jam out with them on this one is a total joy!” Wesley Schultz of The Lumineers added: “James is a powerful singer and musician - we saw his talent each night on tour together last year. Honored he asked us to guest on his song.”
He’ll support his new record with the Up All Night Tour, which will travel across the UK and Ireland in February. Bay has lined up stops in Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Dublin and London, where he’ll play his first headline UK arena show at the OVO Arena Wembley on February 13.
The musician also has festival appearances confirmed for the coming months, with his only UK performance set for Portsmouth’s Victorious Festival on August 25.
