Thurston Moore has shared another track from his upcoming album.
New In Town serves as the latest preview of 'Flow Critical Lucidity', which is due out on September 20 via the former Sonic Youth frontman's own Daydream Library Series label.
Written by Radieux Radio, the experimental, percussion-heavy track utilises piano, guitar and electronics to explore the theme of "fresh blood", according to the artist. He explained:
"The song is about fresh blood. The new kid in school. The new kid on the scene. A new potential for change in an already active community hoping to protect the world from the poisons of power-hungry creeps. The spirit of youth demonstrated in the early ’80s slam pits of hardcore refusing the worn-out expectations of adulthood."
It follows on from the previously unveiled cuts Sans Limites featuring Stereolab's Lætitia Sadier, Isadora and Rewilding.
Thurston, who turns 66 today, will play Sweden’s Way Out West festival in August, and an album release show at Rough Trade East, London on October 14. Head here for details.
