White Denim Announce New Album '12' With Lead Single Light On

White Denim have announced their 12th studio album.
The aptly titled '12' will arrive through Bella Union on December 6, following up frontman James Petralli's 2023 collaborative record with Raze Regal.
The album was recorded during a transitional period for Austin, Texas native Petralli, who relocated to Los Angeles with his family following the passing of his partner's father in the spring of 2021. While continuing to balance the role of being a father with that of a musician, Petralli forged the record as a direct response to the turbulent times.
In advance of the LP, the group have shared the lead single, Light On, a bright, psychedelic groove that comes with the message of perseverance in difficult times. Head below to view the accompanying video. Petralli said:
"Light On is the first song I wrote for this new collection. It mostly took its shape while I played my son's guitar, both of us crammed onto his twin mattress with my partner reading for all of us from my daughter's bed on the other side of the room. It is as influenced by Shel Silverstein as Elvin Jones. Over the years I spent creating this work this particular song served as an encouragement and a consistent reminder to focus on the positive and to continue creating with little regard for potential outcomes."
White Denim will tour the UK this winter, kicking things off at The Waterfront in Norwich on December 5 before stops in London, Leeds, Liverpool, Nottingham, Bristol and Brighton. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday (September 6).
