Father John Misty Announces Sixth Album 'Mahashmashana', Confirms Spring UK and European Tour

Josh Tillman has announced his sixth Father John Misty album.
'Mahashmashana', named after the Sanskrit word Mahāśmaśāna meaning "great cremation ground, all things put going thither", will arrive on November 22 via Bella Union in the UK and Europe and Sub Pop for the rest world.
The record follows 2022's 'Chloë and The Next 20th Century' and his first greatest hits compilation, 'Greatish Hits: I Followed My Dreams and My Dreams Said To Crawl', which arrived earlier this summer.
Produced by Tillman and Drew Erickson, with Jonathan Wilson credited as executive producer, the new record includes the previously unveiled tracks I Guess Time Makes Fools of Us All, and She Cleans Up, which was recently debuted live.
It also features the newly shared Screamland, another rich and sprawling epic that boasts guitar work from Low's Alan Sparhawk and sweeping strings arranged by Drew Erickson. Head below to view the song's video, directed by Estefania Kröl, who said:

Alongside the announcement, Tillman has scheduled spring European tour, which includes UK stops in Edinburgh, Manchester, Brighton and London, where he'll perform at the Royal Albert Hall. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time next Friday (September 27).
The singer-songwriter is currently supporting Kacey Musgraves on her Deeper Well World Tour across the US, and has four headline shows in the diary for later in September. Tickets for those dates are on sale now.
