The Cure Tease 'Songs Of A Lost World' With New Single A Fragile Thing, Confirm Tracklist

Thursday, 10 October 2024 Written by Jon Stickler

The Cure have shared a new song, A Fragile Thing.

Opening with haunting piano before building to a lush, layered sound, the expansive and heart-wrenching track clocks in at just over four minutes and marks the second preview of the post-punk legends' first album in 16 years, 'Songs Of A Lost World'. Frontman Robert Smith commented:

"A Fragile Thing is driven by the difficulties we face in choosing between mutually exclusive needs and how we deal with the futile regret that can follow these choices. However sure we are that the right choices have been made… it can often be very hard to be the person that you really need to be."

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers previously teased the project with the lead single, Alone, which arrived alongside initial details of the record in September.

Recorded at Rockfield Studios in Wales, and produced by Smith with producer Paul Corkett, the follow-up to 2008's '4:13 Dream' will arrive on November 1 via Fiction/Polydor.

Head below to check out the artwork and tracklist, which features a number of songs The Cure previewed on their Shows Of A Lost World Tour in 2022 and 2023.
