DJ Koze has announced his first new album in seven years.
The German DJ and producer will release 'Music Can Hear Us' though his own label Pampa on April 4, following up 2018's 'Knock Knock'. He also produced and co-wrote Rosin Murphy's 2023 LP 'Hit Parade'.
To coincide with the news, he's shared Pure Love, which offers a bright, tropical aesthetic alongside a dancable rhythm and autotuned vocals from Blur and Gorillaz's Damon Albarn, who also co-wrote the song. Albarn said:
"This tune has been through a profound metamorphosis over the last few years. I loved it as an egg; I loved it as a caterpillar; I loved it as a pupa; and I still love it. Thank you, Koze."
Koze added: "In a fashion of proper slow cooking and letting go, we finally came up with this lovely song. If you’re in a hurry, go slowly as they say. Thank you, Damon, for walking this path with me."
Last year, Koze released a two-track EP titled 'Candidasa', featuring the title track and a b-side called Wespennest.
Albarn, meanwhile, put out a new solo album, 'The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows', in 2021, and Gorillaz released their latest LP, 'Cracker Island', in 2023.
