The Darkness have shared a new single, I Hate Myself.
The punky self-deprecating rocker serves as the second preview of the Lowestoft band's new album, 'Dreams On Toast', due out on March 28 via Cooking Vinyl. Introducing the track, singer Justin Hawkins said:
"At last, a joyous, raucous celebration of self-loathing. I think without regrets we stand to learn less from our experiences – to deny them and compartmentalise them is to deny ourselves an opportunity to grow. So, it's time for us to sing this uplifting ode to remorse in the hope that we don't make the same mistakes again and history does not repeat itself."
They'll perform the new song, the record's first single The Longest Kiss, plus other new tracks, at six sold-out Rough Trade in-store shows in London, Nottingham and Liverpool on December 10, 11 and 12, respectively.
They'll support the album with their biggest headline run across the UK to date in the spring. Support will come from Ash. In the summer, they'll appear at Download festival in June and Belfast's CHSq concert series in August. Tickets are on sale now.
