Gloria Estefan has released a new single, Raíces (Roots).
Written by her producer and husband Emilio Estefan, the Latin-infused acoustic ballad serves as the title track of the Cuban-American superstar's forthcoming Spanish-language album, her first in 18 years. Speaking to Billboard Español, she said:
"The song Raíces touched my soul the first moment I heard it. Being a Virgo, my connection with nature is strong, and I see life as a garden, with love as the seed. I believe that what you cultivate with kindness, patience, and faith will one day bloom into joy.
“It is important not to miss the opportunity to express love because every sincere word and gesture plants the roots of a beautiful tomorrow — and that is what this song is all about.”
Estefan's last Spanish-language album was 2007's '90 Millas' ('90 Miles'), while her most recent studio album is 2020's 'Brazil305'. She also put out the festive LP 'Estefan Family Christmas' in 2022.
