Cian Ducrot will release his second studio album this summer.
The follow-up to 2023's 'Victory' is titled 'Little Dreaming' and will arrive on July 11 via Polydor Records. Created by the Cork singer-songwriter and a close group of collaborators, it draws influence from the hits of the '70s and '80s by music legends such as Elton John, Michael Jackson and Queen. He explained:
"This album has been a crazy journey, it was an absolutely amazing experience. I set out to just be as creative and as free and as expressive as possible, and I think we’ve done that. It’s not an overstatement to say making the record has changed my life."
Alongside the announcement, Ducrot has unveiled the recently shared title track's video, which stars Irish television actors Lola Petticrew and Hazel Doupe from the Disney+ series Say Nothing, and Chris Walley from The Young Offenders.
Ducrot added: "I love how theatrical this one turned out, it feels reflective of my personality. It’s about reconnecting with your inner child but also, as an adult, doing what you want, expressing yourself and not caring what anyone else thinks. Hopefully breaking down those boundaries of toxic masculinity in the process."
The album's full tracklist is still to be revealed, though it will include his January single Who's Making You Feel It, a vibrant offering that's reminiscent of early Elton John.
Ducrot will support 'Little Dreaming' with The Dream Ship Tour across the UK and Europe between September 13 and December 20, which includes his first arena show at Dublin's 3Arena, and a performance at London's O2 Academy Brixton.
Tickets for his shows in Dublin, London and Paris are on sale now. Tickets for his date in Warsaw go on general sale at 2pm local time next Thursday (March 27), with all other dates on sale at 10am local time on Friday (March 28).
Ahead of the tour, he'll headline Cork's Live At The Marquee series on July 19 and 20. Tickets are on sale now.
