Grateful Dead co-founding member Bobby Weir has announced a summer London show with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.
The veteran singer and guitarist will perform with his band Wolf Bros — Grammy-winning producer Don Was on bass, and his Dead and Company bandmates Jeff Chimenti on piano and Jay Lane on drums — at the Royal Albert Hall on June 21.
The show, Weir's first in London in 22 years, will feature two sets of music made up of reimagined Grateful Dead songs, and tunes from Weir's solo career, all performed for the first time in the UK with a full 68-piece orchestra. Tickets go on general sale at 4pm on Friday (April 4).
Weir, 77, released his latest solo studio album, 'Blue Mountain', in 2016, and with the Wolf Bros put out two live albums, 'Live In Colorado' and 'Live In Colorado Vol. 2', in 2022, featuring recordings from their four concerts in Colorado in 2021.
More recently, Weir has been performing as part of Dead And Company alongside fellow Grateful Dead member Mickey Hart, as well as John Mayer, Oteil Burbridge, Jeff Chimenti and Jay Lane.
The rock supergroup reunited last month to kick off their new Dead Forever 2025 residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas, which coincides with their 10th anniversary and has dates running through to mid-May. Tickets are on sale now.
