Not the most lucrative fivesome, but one with a cult following who’d chew your lips off if they ever dared form Pavement-unfriendly words, the Californian band have healed their internal rifts and are hitting the road like a rain of guitar-wielding frogs. Just less gooey.
Expect the old brand of odd indie magic to rear its head, plus in the (slightly biased) words of Gary Young, Pavement’s ex-drummer, more of Stephen Malkmus’ “songwriting genius”. Mind you, Gary Young went a bit funny and used to hand out cabbage to fans before the gig and fell off his drum stool a lot. Should you really listen to a man like that?
