Leona Lewis Tour Dates

Although it was late 2007 when X-Factor squeezed out Leona Lewis, she’s only now getting around to a tour. Lewis been caught up in the gears of her own promotional machine up until this point. Her new 14 month tour will start in the UK and spread to the rest of the world. Click Here for Leona Lewis tickets.

Winner of the 2007 X-Factor final, whose debut single, ‘A Moment Like This’, hit the coveted Christmas Number 1 spot just a week after her win, nominated for 28 different awards, Lewis has won 9. She has also several records for fastest selling this, most downloaded that and so on. Cowell must be so proud.

Despite being a poster girl for manufactured, hard-marketed units of profit-generation (‘songs’), one thing people aren’t trying to deny is that Leona Lewis is a genuinely talented musician. She spent years in musical schools, trained in opera, jazz and blues, is a multi-instrumentalist and wrote her own album Twilight before Cowell started mouth-breathing over her shoulder.

Twilight was never released but, in the name of research and to give Leona Lewis a fair shot, I’ve hunted these pre-X-Factor solo songs down and listened to every single one of them. They were a bit crap.

In fairness though, easy-listening R’n’B pop-twaddle is not my cup of tea. She gets kudos for having written the things and there’s a lot of worse stuff being done. Some of it by Lewis.

Plus, she’s loved by millions and lots of people are going to be moist about the fact she’s got this new tour coming up. Speaking about said tour, Leona commented: "I can’t wait to get out on tour and see everyone, I’m really looking forward to putting on a great show.

She also said:

"I had such a fun night at my recent show at the Hackney Empire and it’s given me a real taste for it. Over the last few years I’ve had some amazing experiences and sung in some really interesting places but it’s going to be great to be able to perform all my own material on my very own tour.

And:

"It’s a dream come true."

On her tour, Leona is to play tracks from her debut album Spirit including hits ‘Bleeding Love’ and ‘Run’, as well as tracks from her forthcoming new studio album Echo and new single ‘Happy’, which was recently debuted on X Factor.

The Leona Lewis 2010 tour dates are:
