Brothers Jared and Shannon formed the band back in 98 with Jared on lead guitar, vocals and songwriting duties, whilst Shannon manned the drums. A couple of guitarists came and went before the brothers auditioned Tomo Miličević for the job.
Lead singer Jared has a double-life a highly respected actor, but is so keen that the band be followed on its own merits that he wont perform if his name is used to plug them.
30 Seconds to Mars are a bit winny and have won a bunch of accolades, including an MTV Video Music Award, an MTV Latin & Asia Award, three MTV EMA's, three Kerrang!s and a Fuse award. Their second album, 'A Beautiful Lie', hit platinum status and kept going. Their new album 'This is War' is out in December.
