In 1977 a local journalist, Gordon Oglivie, saw them, was impressed and encouraged them to write what they know. They went off and came back with two tracks, ‘Suspect Device’ and ‘Wasted Life’ which were proper SLF tracks and marked the start of a beautiful friendship that got them played on John Peel’s show.
After that, they hit London and everywhere that would have them, which was a lot of places. They split briefly in ’84, then un-split for some reunions gigs in the late eighties which gave them the genius idea of permanently reforming. Which they did.
Duly reformed, they’re playing:
07 March - O2 Academy, Oxford
10 March - O2 Academy, Bristol
22 March - O2 Academy, Leeds
23 March - O2 Academy, Newcastle
