Led Zeppelin legend and guitar god Jimmy Page has paid tribute to fellow guitar virtuose Jack White, describing the multi-instrumentalist as a “hero” to guitarists both old and young.

In forthcoming film documentary, ‘It Might Get Loud’, Page stars alongside Jack White in the feature that sees three legendary and very different style of guitarists come together to discuss their style, experiences, roots and the technique’s that they use on their iconic guitars. The film is due for release in the UK next month and also stars U2 guitarist The Edge.

Giving an interview to BBC 6 Music Page said that he had enjoyed sharing his experiences with both musicians. “I think Jack White is definitely a hero to a young generation of guitarists and an old generation of guitarists,” he said.

“There is no doubt about that as someone who has roots. Not only that, Jack every time that he has a new project, it’s always worth checking out because he won’t disappoint you.”

When asked if he (Page) had any future plans to work with White, he was less forthcoming. “Not immediately that I know of. I think everyone’s really busy at this point in time, but it’s great that it manifests on this film,” he said.

The film doucumentary ‘It Might Get Loud’ will be screened in selected cinemas across the UK from January 5th 2010.
