Slash Denies Guns N Roses Reform

The iconic guitarist Slash has spoken out about the enormous offers made to him to reform legendary rock band Guns N Roses.

It would be hard to find someone who has not heard of the band Guns N Roses. Perhaps seen as the ultimate rock group through some eyes, the band was formed by the coming together of some top Los Angeles musicians who went on to immediate stardom with the awesome debut album ‘Appetite For Destruction’.

Referred to as ‘the most dangerous band in the world’ Guns N Roses had the classic rockstar attitude, leaving destruction wherever they went across the world. However, with the escalating chaos, drug abuse and good times, something which was so volatile could never last for ever, and the LA group soon showed signs of splitting.

Lead guitarist Slash packed up in 1993, leaving the band and progressing into a solo career. Currently working with a variety of artists on new material for his solo project, the star is still hounded with offers to regroup the original Guns N Roses line up.

Speaking to GQ magazine the guitarist spoke openly about the offers he has received to reform. “I cant rememeber exact numbers, but it’s excessive. Oh, you know – seven, eight digit kinds of things,” he revealed. He also indicated that he is still not interested in getting back together with Guns N Roses front man Axl Rose.

Continuing Slash stated that he will always love the music that he made with Guns N Roses but insists that there is no desire to move backwards. "I am a pretty realistic kind of person, and don't expend energy worrying, 'What if?'. If I hear great music we did together, I respect it for what it was and appreciate it" he said. "But I'm not like everyone else around the band who wants to somehow try to recreate it because there's so much money to be made."

Slash is now currently working on his new solo album putting the finishing touches to the recordings. The album is due for release later this year.
